Product description

White Chiffon India Granite Slabs are natural granite slabs designed for projects requiring a bright stone surface, durable mineral structure and practical long-term decorative value. The selected material is associated with India Chiffon White granite quarry resources; selected for creamy white base, warm mineral movement and stable tile cutting. It presents chiffon white, cream, ivory and pale grey base with soft tan and charcoal speckles, giving the finished tile a clean white granite character rather than a marble or artificial quartz appearance.

The stone body has compact fine-to-medium crystalline Indian white granite texture with warm feldspar and quartz grains. Its visual layout is defined by gentle cream-grey cloudy movement with fine black and tan mineral speckles. This helps designers create broad floor and wall surfaces with a light natural tone while maintaining controlled visual continuity across the installation.

Granite is formed through slow crystallization and geological compression, so White Chiffon India Granite Slabs provide reliable hardness, compression resistance and dimensional stability. They are recommended for residential floors, bathroom walls, stair slabs, hotel rooms and warm white interior decoration. Sealing is advised for wet zones, food areas and exterior environments to improve stain resistance and simplify maintenance.

Category: Natural Granite Slabs

Color: chiffon white, cream, ivory and pale grey base with soft tan and charcoal speckles; each batch should be checked by dry layout before installation because natural white granite may show mineral and tone differences.

Surface Finish Available: Honed / Polished / Brushed / Tumbled / Sandblasted / Bush-hammered / Flamed / Leathered

Product Form: Natural Granite Slabs

Texture: compact fine-to-medium crystalline Indian white granite texture with warm feldspar and quartz grains. polished finish presents warm creamy brightness; brushed or honed finish suits softer interior surfaces.

Density: 2.61 - 2.80 g/cm3 (stable compactness for long-term tile service)

Water Absorption: < 0.38% (sealing treatment recommended according to finish and installation area)

Compressive Strength: 140 - 215 MPa (suitable for normal architectural tile applications)

Abrasion Resistance: reliable wear resistance for daily residential and light commercial surfaces

GANGSAW SUITABILITY

White Chiffon India Granite Slabs raw blocks are compatible with standard gangsaw processing equipment for slab and tile cutting. The stone features stable internal crystalline structure and practical finished-product yield. Gentle cream-grey cloudy movement with fine black and tan mineral speckles help the finished slabs retain a recognizable natural appearance after calibration, edge trimming and surface finishing.

Recommended Processing: Gangsaw slabs (1.8 cm & 2 cm), followed by calibration, edge trimming and honed / polished / brushed / tumbled / flamed surface treatment

Expected Slab Yield: Approximately 76-86 slabs per block (based on 1.8 cm thickness)

Polish Result: polished finish presents warm creamy brightness; brushed or honed finish suits softer interior surfaces The final surface should be inspected under project lighting to confirm tone, mineral visibility and batch consistency.

About

Country and Quarry Origin

White Chiffon Granite, more commonly marketed as Chiffon White Granite, is extracted from sheet-bedrock deposits in eastern India near the border between Odisha, formerly Orissa, and Andhra Pradesh.

Texture

Although internationally sold as granite, White Chiffon is geologically described as a Precambrian granulite. Under European geological stone nomenclature, it should therefore be identified as granulite rather than true granite. Granulite is a high-grade metamorphic rock formed under high-temperature and moderate-pressure conditions. The stone has a dense, interlocking, generally medium-grained crystalline texture. Its structure is mainly granoblastic, with feldspar and grey quartz accompanied by small red garnets and limited dark ferromagnesian minerals. The surface may be nearly massive or display weak gneissic directionality. A polished finish produces a smooth, reflective surface and emphasizes the contrast between the pale background, grey quartz and red garnet crystals. Honed, leathered, brushed, flamed, sandblasted and antiqued finishes can also be produced. Clear epoxy resin may occasionally be used during polishing to fill natural microfissures or minute surface pits and create a more even finish.

Pattern and Veining

White Chiffon Granite normally features a white, light-grey or soft ivory background with fine grey quartz movement. Small red, burgundy or wine-colored garnet crystals are scattered across the surface, creating its most recognizable decorative feature. Its pattern is more granular and softly directional than strongly veined. Typical slabs may display: Fine grey quartz patches and short mineral lines Small red or burgundy garnet speckles Soft ivory and silver-grey clouding Subtle linear or gneissic movement Occasional darker mineral particles Compared with many exotic granites, its color and pattern are relatively consistent. Nevertheless, slab samples should be approved for major installations, and the complete bundle should be dry-laid before fabrication to balance the garnet concentration and directional movement.

Durability

White Chiffon is a strong architectural stone suitable for both interior and exterior applications. Commercial references describe it as frost-resistant and capable of maintaining a stable polished finish. It can be used for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, flooring, staircases, wall cladding, fireplaces, paving, facades and memorial products. Published commercial reference values include: Density: approximately 2,574–2,586 kg/m³ Water absorption: approximately 0.55–0.60% Compressive strength: approximately 88.2–110 MPa Flexural strength: approximately 9.8–12.3 MPa These values indicate a compact stone with good structural strength and reasonable resistance to moisture and normal architectural wear. However, the figures are reference ranges rather than guaranteed values for every quarry block. For structural cladding, heavy commercial flooring, freeze–thaw environments or major exterior projects, current laboratory reports should be obtained for the actual production batch. Relevant tests may include water absorption and density under ASTM C97, compressive strength under ASTM C170, flexural strength under ASTM C880 and abrasion or slip-resistance testing where required.

Acid Sensitivity

Because White Chiffon is a feldspar- and quartz-bearing silicate granulite, it generally has substantially better resistance to weak household acids than calcite-rich stones such as marble, limestone or travertine. Brief contact with lemon juice, diluted vinegar or similar kitchen substances is less likely to cause immediate etching. This assessment is based on the stone’s reported mineralogy and should not replace a project-specific chemical-resistance test. The material should nevertheless be described as acid-resistant rather than completely acid-proof. Concentrated acids may affect certain minerals, resin-filled areas, sealers or the polished finish. Hydrofluoric acid is particularly dangerous because it attacks silicate minerals and can damage granite, quartzite and granulite surfaces. Rust removers and toilet cleaners containing hydrofluoric acid must therefore never be used. For routine maintenance: Use a pH-neutral natural-stone cleaner or mild detergent. Remove wine, coffee, oil, citrus juice and vinegar promptly. Avoid acidic cleaners, abrasive powders and harsh rust removers. Test the surface before applying an impregnating sealer. Remember that sealing improves stain resistance but does not make the stone completely stain-proof. Summary White Chiffon India Granite Slabs combine a clean white-to-light-grey background with subtle grey quartz movement and distinctive red garnet crystals. Geologically classified as granulite, the stone has a dense crystalline texture, good structural strength, exterior-use potential and better resistance to household acids than marble. Its restrained pattern makes it suitable for both traditional and contemporary projects, while quarry-face matching and batch-specific testing are recommended for large or technically demanding installations.
