White Dallas Granite, also known as Dallas White Granite or Branco Dallas Granite, is extracted from several dimension-stone quarries in Brazil.
Texture
White Dallas is commercially classified as granite. Geological research on the material from Barra de São Francisco describes it as a deformed, garnet-bearing syenogranitic rock associated with the Carlos Chagas Suite. Its main minerals include quartz, microcline, plagioclase, biotite, muscovite and garnet, with smaller quantities of sillimanite and accessory minerals.
The stone generally has a medium- to coarse-grained, interlocking crystalline texture. Feldspar and quartz form most of the light-colored body, while mica, garnet and other dark minerals produce contrasting speckles and directional movement. Some slabs exhibit a subtle gneissic foliation, giving the surface a gently flowing or linear character rather than a completely uniform granular pattern.
Pattern and Veining
White Dallas Granite normally features a creamy white, pale grey or warm off-white background. It is decorated with irregular grey, charcoal and light lavender mineral movement, together with scattered burgundy, wine-red or purple garnet crystals.
Depending on the quarry bench and cutting direction, the slabs may also contain:
Soft beige or golden patches

Occasional elongated garnet and feldspar formations

Durability
White Dallas Granite is a dense and mechanically strong natural stone. A published technological study of Branco Dallas samples reported an apparent density of approximately 2,632 kg/m³, apparent porosity of around 0.65% and water absorption of approximately 0.25%. Dry uniaxial compressive-strength results ranged from approximately 104 to 125 MPa, depending on the direction of loading relative to the stone’s natural foliation.

Acid Sensitivity
As a silicate-based stone, White Dallas Granite generally has much better resistance to ordinary kitchen acids than marble, limestone or travertine. Brief exposure to citrus juice, diluted vinegar or similar substances is less likely to cause immediate etching. Nevertheless, it should be described as acid-resistant rather than acid-proof.
Laboratory testing of Branco Dallas found that hydrochloric acid could cause yellowing of feldspar minerals. Citric acid, ammonium chloride, potassium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite also produced varying degrees of lightening, color enhancement or slight greenish and whitish discoloration under test conditions. Strong acids and aggressive chemical cleaners should therefore be avoided.

Use a pH-neutral natural-stone cleaner.
Remove wine, coffee, oil and acidic spills promptly.
Do not use acidic toilet cleaners or rust removers.
Never expose the stone to hydrofluoric-acid products.
Apply a suitable impregnating sealer when additional stain resistance is required.
The Natural Stone Institute notes that hydrofluoric acid attacks silicate minerals and can damage granite and quartzite surfaces.
